The goal of GENIUS TOOLS Model Processor is to automate recurring tasks when overhauling models. A task is a function that is performed on the models you specify. More than 130 actions are available to you. By defining filters, you can control which models each action is performed on.
Each step you want to automate is defined by a task. Tasks are grouped into task lists and processed in the order specified there. Task lists can be easily created using the intuitive user interface of GENIUS TOOLS Model Processor. However, it usually takes more time to figure out how the relevant actions should be arranged most effectively in a task list, which filters and variables should be applied or when it makes sense to change the group mode. In order to create effective task lists, several questions should be clarified at the beginning of the revision process.
The following chapter highlights these questions and illustrates them using example use cases. In the chapter Examples and Tutorials for These Use Cases” describes the specific procedure for creating the task lists.
When working with GENIUS TOOLS Model Processor, it has proven helpful to first clarify the following questions:
–What is the goal of the data rework? Read the next chapter.
–Which parts are to be analyzed or overhauled, and by whom? This is described in the chapter Types of data rework.
To make it easier to use GENIUS TOOLS Model Processor, we also recommend looking at the included MPX files: the tutorial training_1_-_first_steps.mpx and the example task lists in the file mpuser_example_int.mpx. See chapter Example and tutorials for more information.
