For all types of data processing the group mode can be used. This allows actions to be executed on parts that are related to the current model, such as on all components of an assembly or on the drawing model of a drawing.
The group mode is defined for an action group, i.e., the settings of the task Group. By default, the selection is set to Currently Reworking Model, meaning that during rework tasks cannot run on another model or state. This group mode does not change the scope of the actions within the group.
A group can also be used as an organizational element, for example, to define filters that apply across actions or to repeat actions within the group, see chapter Combining tasks in groups.
Scope-changing group modes
Most group modes change the scope of actions, for example to switch from the current model to another model during editing, or to switch within a model to combined views.
You can apply the group mode:
–within the model (intra-model): to execute actions on all sheets or on all bodies, see the overview of group modes below.
–outside the model (across models): when you need to switch between models or model types (PRT, DRW) during editing, e.g., from an assembly to a component part (Group Mode All Model Components) or from a part to a drawing (Group Mode Other Model).

Cross-model group mode: Reports in an action group are applied to the current model and all dependent models
Advantages of state-changing group modes:
–Fastest method for making changes to nested product data with Model Processor User, e.g., when revising an assembly.
Disadvantages:
–More complicated to implement when first starting to work with Model Processor
–For cross-model group modes, mapkeys cannot be executed during revision.
Use cases for state-changing group modes:
–Project-related data revision, e.g., restricting parameters when delivering an assembly to a customer (group mode All Model Dependencies in Session).
–Switching from the current model to another model, e.g., writing the drawing number from the drawing model into the drawing (group mode Other Model).
Refer to the following table to see which group modes apply across models and which apply within a model.
