GENIUS TOOLS Model Processor

The following general workflow is recommended for revising model data.

Please note: A license for GENIUS TOOLS Model Processor Rework is required if the model needs to be saved during the rework process or if a Mapkey or script is required during execution.

Preparation

1.Create reports from multiple data sets, such as large assemblies, to gain a good overview of the data quality. (See Checking data quality)

–Data quality issues form the basis for deciding which actions need to be taken on the data.

–Create reports to document the current status before rework and to highlight discrepancies.

Considerations

2.When should the rework take place, and who should perform it?

–during operations:

·Administrator ⭢ Model Processor Report (on current model)

·Creo users ⭢ Model Processor User

–when model data is not in use:

·Administrator ⭢ Model Processor Rework in batch mode

Please note: During any data rework, ensure that the models are not being edited by other users or checked out.

3.Which models should be reworked? (Type of data rework)

–Are the models stored in folders or project-based?

·One or more parts, drawings, or assemblies ⭢ Task list on the current model/assembly or in Model Processor User

·Files that are grouped together in one or more directories or can be easily found by filename ⭢ Task list in batch mode

–Are all parts in an assembly?

4.Which data needs to be revised?

–Model data, parameters, relationships, material properties, family tables, etc. ⭢ Search for corresponding actions

5.Does the revision require switching to a different part (e.g., from Part to Drawing?) or changing the focus within a part? ⭢ Set group mode

6.Are specifications needed for executing tasks? ⭢ Use enhanced filters

Create task list

7.Drag the required actions into the Body area.

8.Test each action on a test model before adding the next task to the task list.

Please note: The order of the tasks is crucial, as later steps may depend on previous ones. Therefore, always build a task list step by step.

9.Where appropriate, create task groups and use advanced filters.

10.The Save Model task must be the last action in the list.

Test the task list

11.Run test runs. To do this, deactivate the “Save Model” action by checking the Deactivate box DisableTask.

Please note: The analysis of the test data usually results in additional actions being added to the task list. Therefore, set aside some time for this fine-tuning of the final task list.

Reworking models

12.Select the type of data rework specified in steps 2 and 3.

13.Execute the task list on your models or integrate the task list into Model Processor User.

Report after rework (optional)

14.Run the task list from step 1 again.
